Sketchy Saturday!

It has been SO long since I've done a Sketchy Saturday, I can't even remember when it was myself! I'm wondering just exactly where the first half of 2010 has disappeared to! Anyway, so I'm declaring today a Sketchy Saturday! I've decided to use this great sketch by Carol Dunstan for our team blog, Elite Challenges. Such a great sketch! All you need to do to play along is create a card following Carol's sketch, then upload it to your blog or favourite online gallery. Grab the link to your card and post it in a comment on this post here on my blog. Easy! Do all this before midnight on Monday, 14th June (thank goodness for the long weekend -an extra day to create!) and then on Tuesday I'll randomly select a winner to receive a prize from me. I can't wait to see all of your creations!

For my card, I decided to break out my gorgeous Pink Flamingo Designer Series Paper -one of the packs that is on special this week. At first glance, this paper pack is a little glare-y (is that a word?), but when you start creating with it, wow, it's just stunning!

Central Coast Cardmaking

It's Sketchy Saturday! As I turned on my computer this morning, I was feeling the guilt of not blogging all week. I also felt in the mood to create a card, so I declared it sketchy saturday, threw together this super simple sketch and got creating! I am loving how my card turned out. Sometimes the cards that seem to create themselves and come together quickly are the best, aren't they? So, today's sketch is pictured above. Go forth and create, friends! You're welcome to interpret the sketch in any way you see fit (create a scrap layout if you like!), then take a photo of your work, upload it to your blog or fave online gallery and then pop back here and post a link to your work in the comments section of this blog before midnight on Monday. I'll select a random entry to receive a prize on Tuesday. I look forward to seeing your creations!

Here is the card I created using my sketch. I've used the Tree Trimmings Stamp Set and the gorgeous new Ski Slope Designer Series Papers (both products from the Spring Mini Catalogue). It's Sketchy Saturday Again!

It's been a long time coming, but I've decided that today is my second Sketchy Saturday. I finally made time this week to sit down and put together another sketch. So, here it is;

To participate in my sketch challenge, just create a card using the sketch as a guide to your design/layout, take a photo of it and either email that photo to me or upload it to your favourite online gallery and post a comment on this post with the link to your card. Too easy! I look forward to seeing your creations!

I've created a card myself using this sketch to give you one idea of how your own interpretation of my sketch can really give you a completely different look from the sketch card. You can see from my card that it has the basic layout of the sketch, but the overall card looks very different to the sketch image. I made this card for my friend's daughter, who turned one this week. I love how it turned out! Crazy for Cupcakes is such an easy set to work with -this cake stand image is just stunning. This is one must-have, essential set for all of you birthday card-makers out there!

So, here is my card, incorporating some of my very favourite new products. The Eyelet Border Punch and Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon always feature very close to hand at my craft desk. I love the delicate, feminine feel that the border punch gives to my projects. I've also used the gorgeous Candy Lane Designer Series Papers which feature two of the new In Colours -Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette. I'm so glad we get an extra 5 months with these In Colours -I just adore them!

New Feature - Sketchy Saturday!

Welcome to the weekend, everyone! And, of course, Happy Valentine's Day!

I'm introducing a new feature today. Sketchy Saturday! The plan is that I will upload a Sketch (on Saturdays) that I have created and a sample card I've made using that sketch. Then you create your own card from my sketch and upload a link directly to that card. I can't promise that there will be a sketch every Saturday, but hopefully I'll manage to keep them coming fairly regularly! I'll also prepare a sketch gallery where I'll upload all of my sketches, so you can access them all in one place anytime you need them.

Now, first there's some fineprint. I've created this sketch, spent the time to plan it, put it together and all of that. Please do not steal it! You're free to use it to create your own original works, submit them for publication, do what you like with them, but PLEASE do not steal my image to use as your own. It's watermarked anyway, so everyone will know you stole it! Thanks!

I really like how this sketch came together. These digital papers and elements by Cherie Mask for 2peas are just gorgeous! They're one of the free digital kits that 2peas offer. This kit is called "All Twitterpated" -how cute is that? You can view the 2peas digital range here. You may need to register with them to access their free kits, but it's free to register and well worth the effort!

And now for my card using this sketch. A friend in the US sent me a birthday surprise of images from the US Stampin' Up! set called "Love You Much", with some samples of matching papers. I was so excited to get this parcel! I wasn't expecting it at all, which just added to my excitement all the more! Here is the first card I've created with these yummy goodies:    

I won't post all of the supplies here because we can't buy them here! Other than the too-cute bucklet I've used from the Stylish Silver Hodgepodge set! How adorable! There just is not enough of those bucklets in the set!
