Today's card is a CASE from the 2008/09 I.B.&C. This stamp set is one of the very first sets I purchased when I first discovered the awesomeness of Stampin' Up! and I've always like what I've created with it. When I saw this card in the catalogue, I fell in love with this set all over again. It's such a simple design, a very quick card to make, but it looks so great! I think I'll create some more of this design in different colour schemes because I just love this design so much.

Finally -a scrapbook page!

It's been so long since I had a scrapbooking page to share with you. I've been enjoying my cardmaking so much that I've left my scrapbooking somewhat neglected. That will change! Today's page is a 6x6 layout that we created at my Stamp Retirement Party on Saturday just gone. We had such a great day and raised some funds for the MS Society. The projects we created all had an easter theme to them (it's only 3 weeks away now!).

I don't have an updated retiring products availability list as yet today -the list that was posted for demonstrators this morning has several errors in it, so I'd prefer not to post it just yet. Hopefully we will get a corrected list this afternoon and I'll be able to share that with you.

Today's card is using Carte Postale Stamp Set -another of the sets on the retiring list this year. This is such a versatile set -I've used it in the past to create cards for my sister in law, my mum, my parents-in-law for their anniversary and today's card is for my husband, "just because". It's not often you get a stamp set that can be used for such a wide range of ages and occasions -not to mention genders! I've cased this card from SCS and again, the link was lost in the computer melt down last month, so I will try to find it again for you all and pop back here with the link. With the huge volume of projects on SCS, it's not always possible to find the links I lost, but I know I found this card in the Carte Postale Gallery, so you could always go there if you're after more details or whatever. Sorry for any inconvenience!

I didn't change a thing on this card, I CASEd the original design exactly, because I liked it so much. It's a 5 1/4" square card and the fold is at the top. It looks even better in real life!

Today's card is a CASE of the card at the top of page 72 of the current Idea Book & Catalogue. It was created using blues for the catalogue, but I preferred a more feminine pink palette for my version of the card, so I changed the blues to Rose Red (the lighter shade was achieved by stamping off the image on scrap paper before stamping it on my cardstock). I love how versatile the projects in our IB&C's are -I often change out colours or stamp sets to get a different version of the cards or scrap pages in the book. Sometimes I get what seems to be a completely different card!

Farewell, Looks Like Spring

Day four on my retirement party countdown (yes, there will be a party at the end of the countdown -just finalising dates and plans before an announcement!)... Today's card is a CASE of the lovely Lauren Meader. A while back, I was browsing SCS for ideas and came across this card by Lauren. Silly me, I closed the window after I had made my card and now I can't find the link to it anywhere (I've just spent half an hour searching). I was so sure I had saved it, but obviously not. Anyway, I didn't change a thing, because I just loved Lauren's card so much. She had seen a card in Target that inspired her card, she said hers was almost identical and cost her all of 17 cents to make, compared to the almost $5 for the one at Target. Gotta love making your own cards!

Goodbye Polka Dots & Paisley!

When I first joined Stampin' Up!, Polka Dots & Paisley was one of my favourite sets. I haven't used it for a little while, but creating today's card, I was reminded just why I love it so much. Today's card is very simple and there's not much to it, but I think it works well and turned out quite cute. This colour scheme is not one I've used before, but I really like it! It's probably just for the fact that it has Purely Pomegranate in it! I shall miss you, sweet colour!

This card was inspired by a card that caught my eye in the back of a pic of a Stationery Set on SCS. You can check out the picture of the set here. If you look closely, over to the right hand side of the picture there is a card that you can only see the top of, which looks something like the top of my card here.  That glimpse of that card was my starting point.

Be Happy CASE

I haven't played with Be Happy in sooo long. The retirement list has given me the push I needed to drag it out and get it inky! I love this set for scrapbooking, but I was a little stumped for ideas for a card today, so I went looking on SCS and came across this card, which I thought looked really cute. The only thing I changed was the placement of the word "birthday", as I wanted it up with the "happy". Let me tell you, this card is SO much cuter in real life! The colours just work so well together! I'll be playing with this design some more in a different colour scheme, I think. I'll be sure to share it here when I do.

It's so exciting to know a new catalogue is so close! But, believe it or not, there is a SAD element to getting a new catalogue with yummy new products. Bodacious Bye-Bye

I was really sad to hear that Bodacious Bouquet is retiring. It has been one of my fave sets since I became a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. I know I will find some new favourites in the new releases, too, and space has to be made for them, but I will definitely miss my trusty old friend, Bodacious Bouquet! I created this card back in 2007 and it has long since arrived with its recipient, but I wanted to share it with you, because I really love the summery look of this card and I thought it was a perfect pick-me-up with all the rain we have been having here lately! The technique I used on the background stamping is called "faux embossing". It's so easy to do -you just stamp your image in the same colour ink as the cardstock you are using and then use the stamp-a-majig to stamp again in whisper white, but you off center the second stamp image slightly. I love the look it gave to this card.

Bud Basics Single Layer Card

Time for a new card! I created this card a little while ago, but it's such a quick, easy card, I thought I would share it with you. It's a "single layer" card, which just means there are no mats or layers or cutting to do. You just have your card base and stamp straight on to it. This is a great way to get several cards made in a short amount of time!
