Central Coast Flora Festival

We had a fantastic day at the Flora Festival yesterday! This year's festival is huge, with lots to see and do. I'm really looking forward to getting back there on Sunday! We had a very busy morning and a slightly quieter afternoon. We met lots of lovely people and we even made some cards! The stall is looking fantastic, with lots of very gorgeous creations adorning the walls and display stand. We've even got a table full of retired stamp sets for sale at bargain prices. The Festival is running all weekend until Sunday -be sure to stop by and say hello (and maybe even pick up a bargain or two for yourself!).

Introducing the Stamp With Wendy Project Gallery

I'm really excited to introduce my Stamp With Wendy Project Gallery. I'll be regularly adding new projects to the gallery from now on, all sorted into categories by Stamp Set used on the projects. Another Spring Mini 09 Sneak Peak

Here's another Sneak Peak at a new stamp set coming in the Spring Mini '09 Catalogue. This is actually some of the envelopes that I'm sending out the July Stamps By Mail kits in. I couldn't resist stamping them up with a little sneak peak from the Mini Catalogue. Such a cute set and I can't wait to share it with you in all it's glory! I think you'll be very pleasantly surprised with the great value sets we have on offer in this mini catalogue. Not to mention new accessories and papers!

Update to Bushfire Appeal Donation Amount

Stampin' Up! are thrilled to report that to date, with the sales of the Bushfire Appeal stamp sets, they'll be able to donate $58,131.68 to the Australian Red Cross Victorian Bushfires 2009 Appeal.

Thank you for your efforts to help those who've suffered from this tragedy.

I'll keep you aware of the donation amount as the month progresses.

The Devastating Tragedy

I just don't know where to begin this post. Words fail me, but I feel compelled to share with those of my readers who live outside of Australia what we are seeing unfold here in our beloved country. You may have heard about the devastating fires that have been ravaging Victoria over the past few days. They continue to do so in many areas, but the havoc they have already wreaked in many areas have literally wiped out entire communities and families. I am not exagerating. There are some towns (yes, plural) that have just one or two buildings left. Hundreds of people have lost their lives, thousands their homes.

I grew up in country Victoria, very close to one of the towns that lost almost 20 lives. My brother rang yesterday with the news that his mum's house is gone (we have the same dad but different mums). Thankfully my family and loved ones are safe at the moment, but many people I know are unable to get hold of their loved ones. Some have already had their worst fears confirmed. The death toll currently stands at 173, but authorities fear it will rise far beyond this as they go into the fire ravaged areas to investigate and recover the bodies of those people who unfortunately didn't make it out.

I know that it's a tough time financially for a lot of people right now, but if you can spare even just a dollar or two, please visit the Red Cross website and follow the links to make a donation. The Red Cross has pledged that every cent donated to the bushfire appeal will go directly to those affected by this tragedy. They won't be deducting anything for administration charges or costs. Please give as generously as you are able to and please also join me in praying for everyone affected by these fires.

I've got together with two other demos in my team -my upline, Georgina Martin and Karen Devonshire and we're organising a special fundraising stamping night. We'll be supporting Bear Cottage Children's Hospice and creating 3 gorgeous projects. Not to mention, having HEAPS of fun and learning some great tips and techniques!

Bear Cottage is a place where children with terminal illnesses and their families can stay to receive rest and medical care in an environment designed to feel like home. It is a truly remarkable place. Relying solely on donations to survive, Bear Cottage needs our help! Please come along and support this vital service. Invite a friend or two to come with you and make a girl's night out of it!

Back from the abyss...

Hi Everyone!

Wow, it really has been ages since I posted. How does that always happen? The days seem to just merge together for me this year. Anyway, the upside is that I have so many things to share with you all.

Firstly, I need to mention that I have not forgotten about my Give-It-Away-Day Cuttlebug Alphabet prize. It's taken me this long to get back to it because only two of the entries qualified to go into the draw according to the rules I set out at the time. So, I've been pondering whether that was fair and decided that I will send everyone who entered a gift and re-offer the prize at a later date with fairer entry requirements. Awesome News!

Ever since the announcement, I've been anxiously waiting and watching to hear if we were going to get the same changes here. I'm pleased to announce that we are!

On December 1, 2007, Stampin' Up!^® Australia announced the following change to our angel policy, effective from January 1, 2008;

"Completed, hand-stamped projects may be sold at competitive and non-competitive permanent retail locations, as well as temporary craft events, community fundraisers, and over the Internet. In selling hand-stamped projects, the seller must make it clear that the items are hand-made, and not a product of the company. The seller may indicate that the supplies used are from Stampin' Up!, but the Stampin' Up! logo may not be used in any way for the sole purpose of promoting the sale of hand-stamped projects."

This is such fantastic news! With these changes, we now all have an extra way to enjoy our awesome Stampin' Up!^® stamps -and earn a little pocket money while we're at it! If you would like some further details on retail selling of your handstamped items, email me today.

... And here it is confirmed! I got an A!!! My goodness, it's been like 10 years since I got an A! Argh! Am I THAT OLD??? Ten years since I finished school, already?!?!?! Alas, yes, it is true. My school are having their ten year reunion this month. So sad I can't make it, but that's what happens when you move interstate and have babies. Well, baby, singular, but you know what I mean.
